Wildthing Adventures was established in 1989 by Wouter Groenewald and was later joined by Nick Louw. The first activities included Bridge Jumping at the Gouritz River Bridge followed by River Rafting activities (on the Orange, Breede and Doring Rivers), Corporate Teambuilding and Overland Safaris. Today, 21 years later, we still offer all of these activities (except the Bridge Jumping which is closed due to the Western Cape Department of Transport).

Our core focus is to ensure you have a great value for money holiday.

We pride ourselves in service excellence, going that extra mile to make all our guests a Wildthing Adventures ambassador.  Our motto is 'Living the good life' and this is what most of us aspire to, but a few of us ever achieve. We will strive to make it happen for you. Our guides have APA (African Paddling Association) specialised guide certification and have interesting nature or conservation backgrounds. We practice a safety first approach to outdoor adventure and are proud of our safety record.

Wildthing Adventures key staff members

Wouter - Managing Director

Wouter loves the outdoors and has a passion for people. He started Wildthing Adventures in his 'free' time and what was first a hobby became his everyday live. Wouter is a qualified and experienced guide (river and adventures) and loves a challenge.

Kat - Operations Manager

Organised, driven, adventurous is just a few words to describe Kat.
All she ever wanted to do is adventure and after completing her BSC Sport Science Degree in Stellenbosch end 2003, Kat immediately got stuck into the adventure game. She has been the Wildthing Adventures Operations Manager since 2006. She has paddled most rivers in the Cape and is an experienced white water kayaker.

Wildthing Adventures also has a pool of 30 guides who are used for different adventures.
